"Painting the Town," Marblehead Annual
Festival of the Arts July 4, 2003 is in its 35th Year
artists scatter around town to start and complete a painting in one day . . . matted and framed, it's returned to the Arts Association by 4 pm and on exhibit throughout the festival
I chose Little Harbor and Gerry's Island for my subject . . . in the 105 f. heat, I could take shelter . . . plein aire with plenty of humidity . . .

Marblehead in Winter
February and March, 2003
" . . . fire and ice, the artist's soul . . ."
In one week, Marblehead experienced a blizzard, 25 inches of snow falling in 24 hours on February 17th, breaking all records . . . and then a raging fire which burned all night and destroyed the Rogers Building on School Street, a four-alarm fire. The Rogers building was over 100 years old and an architectural landmark . . . here are some photos of the aftermath of the blizzard and the fire. m-c
